About the Journal
Mūzikas akadēmijas raksti (scriptamusica.lv) is a scientific journal of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music on annual basis since 2004 and is the only regularly published journal of musicology in Latvia. It is published mainly in Latvian, but often includes a few articles by foreign contributors in English. The aim of the journal is to expand theoretical and methodological approaches and perspectives in music research including but not limited to such fields as historical musicology, ethnomusicology, systematic musicology as well as creative practice-based research in music and related performing arts. Besides, the journal aims to provide a circulation of newest research results on regular basis.
All articles are subject to thorough double peer-review by distinguished experts in respective subjects from different institutions of higher education and research in Latvia and abroad.
