  • Information about the author – name and surname, titles, academic degree, represented institution, and country – should not appear in the article. This will be indicated in the metadata field when submitting the article to the journal system.

  • Appendices should be submitted as separate numbered files in the specified formats (.jpg, .png, .pdf for images; .xls or .xlsx for editable charts; .doc or .docx for tables). If an author is not the creator of an appendix, indicate the source or the creator of the appendix.

The referencing style should follow the guidelines of The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition author-date system (see Chicago-Style Citation Quick Guide). Citations are carried within the text. A full bibliography should be included at the end of the article, divided into sections (unpublished and published sources), and arranged in an alphabetical list.

Previous volumes of Mūzikas akadēmijas raksti differed from the example given in the Chicago Manual in several ways: they used a colon instead of a comma in the in-text citation; when referring to the year in the bibliography, they used brackets instead of period marks; omitted quotation marks in the bibliography list due to the specific linguistic conventions of the Latvian language.
